Kara Richards
![]() Kara began her netball career when she was 9 years old, playing for Mt Martha Primary School. She has represented Victoria at every age group, starting at the Under 16's School girl level, then to 17/U State Team, 19/U State Team and 21/U State Teams over the years, winning many premierships and vice-captaining a few times. Kara was also been selected in the Australian squads each year. At 20 years of age, Kara received a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra where she spent a year training and furthering her skills and participating in the Australian Netball League (ANL). In addition to playing in the ANL Competition, she travelled with the team to Jamaica and New Zealand to compete against the countries learning their style of play and gaining international exposure. For Kara it was an amazing experience. In 2009 Kara returned to Melbourne to receive a VIS scholarship to play in the victorious Victorian Fury side that competed in the ANL Competition. In 2010 Kara enjoyed some great court time with the Melbourne Vixens, Victoria's top netball team, competiting in the ANZ Championships. Kara is continuing to build on her skills and further her development, learning from the valuable knowledge that these coaches and players have. The 2011 season will see Kara join fellow Victorian, Sharni Layton, in the defence line of the reigning premiers Adelaide Thunderbirds! Energetic Apparel wishes Kara all the best in her new adventure and looks forward to seeing her out on court.

Her dream came true with Eloise playing 34 tests for Australia including the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester (Gold Medallist) and the 2003 World Netball Championships in Jamaica. As co-captain of the Melbourne Phoenix in the National Netball League she was instrumental in motivating her side to 5 Commonwealth Bank Trophy premierships.
